    1. [S700] Info: Barbara (Wells) Henderson, e-mail 7 Mar 1998 (based on info from Haydn Scott).
      Hello Barb
The baptisms of these children of William Wells are all recorded inthe Thirsk registers.
      1739 Elizabeth
      1740 Christopher
      1742 William
1744 Jane and Mary (Mary died 1745)
      1746 Thomas
      1748 John (died 1752)
      1750 Jane
      1753 John
I could find no trace of the burial of Jane twin sister of Mary but the second naming suggests that she died.Had no luck finding the baptism of Jane Cliff but Thomas Cliffe, currier, had two children baptised Catherine baptised 6 June 1719 died 7 October 1719 Thomas baptised 16 August 1714 These dates suggest that they could have been Jane's sister and brother. The Cliffe family were living in Thirsk as early as February 1635 when an infant child of John Cliffe was buried. John the son of Christopher Cliffe was baptised on 19 October 1653
I usually visit NYCCRO at Northallerton once a week so let me know if you want any more searches doing.
