MATTINSON, Devona Marguerite "Bonnie" - 74, High-Crest Nursing Home, Springhill, Cumberland Co., formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday, September 26, 2000, in the home. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Charles T. and Margaret M (Hunter) Ryan. She was a former member of The Salvation Army in Springhill and a former member of the Home League. She spent most of her life as a devoted mother and homemaker. She was employed with Stanfield's Ltd. in Oxford for a number ofyears and prior to her retirement she was employed with Gordon's Greenhouse Ltd., Oxford for five years. Surviving are her best friend and husband, Mr. Miner A. Mattinson, Oxford; daughters, Mrs. Margaret Doncaster and husband Eric, Swan Hill,Alta.; Mrs. Brenda Matthews and husband George, Springhill; Inez Mattinson and Allan, Springhill; Mrs. Audrey Beaumont and husband Micah, Bridgewater; sons, Mr. Carman Mattinson and Ellie, Oxford; Mr. Douglas Mattinson and Mary, Springhill; 16grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Edna Kavalak, Springhill; Mrs. Kathleen Gaudet, Trenton, Pictou Co.; Mrs. Helen Henwood and Charles, Springhill; Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Henwood and husband Kenneth, Springhill; brother, Patrick G. Ryan, Springhill; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her former husband, Mr. Clinton R. Mattinson; son, Kenneth C. Mattinson; grandson, Thomas Wayne Mattinson in infancy; brothers, Charles Ryan, Patrick Ryan, both in infancy. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening, with funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, September 30, both in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford, Rev. Frank Likely officiating. Burial will take place in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to a charity of your choice.
