Obituary
McQUARRIE _ Colin Dunslaff, Q.C. Died April 24, 2006. He was predeceased by his first wife Margaret (nee Sheppard) of New Westminster, his second wife Helen B. (nee Skillings) of Victoria and his sister Mary Francis Newcomb. He is survived by his and Margaret's children, Owen (Marilyn), Sandy (Maureen) and Jane (Barry) and grandchildren Colin, Morag, Gowan, Ross and Nathan and great-grandchildren, Ashley and Erem. He was born on November 2, 1911 and raised in New Westminster where he practiced law for fifty years. He dedicated a great deal of his working life to the service of the community and his profession of which he was very proud. He served overseas with the Royal Westminster Regiment as a Captain in the Second World War and was an Alderman of the city of New Westminster on his return. For many years he was the Solicitor of the Union of British Columbia Municipalities and honoured with a life membership on his retirement. After serving as a Bencher he was elected as the treasurer of the Law Society of B.C. for 1967. He was a co-author of the code of professional conduct handbook and a life Bencher of the Law Society. He loved his summer home at Pender Harbour and was a prime benefactor in the creation of Francis Point Provincial Park. He was an inspiring individual, loved, admired and respected by his family and friends. Funeral Service will be held on May 1st, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cathedral, 514 Carnarvon St., New Westminster, BC. Rev. John Bailey officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined.
