  	Obituary ROBERTSON, J. Lawrence - 90, 442 Lorne St., New Glasgow, died Monday, April 22, 2002, in Aberdeen Hospital. Born in Barney's River Station, he was the eldest son of the late Harlan and Margaret (Bannerman) Robertson. Lawrence was employed as a machine operator with the former construction company Fraser, Mason and Fraser, for over 30 years. A dedicated member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, he served as an elder for 35 years. He was a volunteer fireman for the town of New Glasgow and also was a member of the Euclid Lodge 92, New Glasgow. Lawrence was a devoted family man, well-known for his integrity, kindness, hard work and keen sense of humour. His love of country life was reflected in his appreciation of nature. His garden was always a great source of pleasure. He enjoyed socializing and was an entertaining storyteller. Lawrence enriched the lives of all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Mary MacKay, New Glasgow; daughters, Laurene (Bill) MacDonald, New Glasgow; Eleanor (Hugh) Hall, Dartmouth; grandson, Michael Hall; sisters, Chrissie Ritchie, New Glasgow; Janet Robertson, New Glasgow; Lena (Wendell) Watters, Hamilton, Ont.; brother, Allison (Helen), MacLellan's Brook; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Robertson and Gladys Robertson, Barney's River Station; Joyce Robertson, Mississauga, Ont.; Eileen Robertson, Burlington, Ont.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Lester, Everett, Donald, Freddie; sister, Emma. His remains will rest in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with visiting Thursday 3-5, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, Rev. Richard Sand officiating. A reception will take place in the church hall. Burial to follow in Kenzieville Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow or a charity of your choice.
