ROBERTSON, John D. (Johnie) - Broadway, Pictou Co., died September 26, 1996, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Stewart and Della (Breakwell) Robertson. He was a resident of Broadway most of his life. He was a self-employed trucker and lumberman. He was an adherent of Barneys River Presbyterian Church and a member of Hudson Masonic Lodge 77, Thorburn. Surviving are his wife, the former Reta MacBeth; daughters, Linda (Mrs. Edward McCurdy), Lower Sackville; Lois (Mrs. Gary MacKenzie), Truro; Joan (Mrs. Kevin MacGillivray), Lismore; sons, Stewart, Telford; Carl, James River; 10 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Evelyn Taylor, Antigonish; brother, Melvin, London, Ont. He was predeceased by sister, Ruth MacCulloch; brother, Dale. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Barneys River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Waldon Moase officiating. Burial in Kenzieville Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations to the general fund of Barneys River Presbyterian Church or any charity.
