      MacLEAN (Dewar), Christine Gladys - 70, Sutherland's River, passed away suddenly in Aberdeen Regional Hospital on May 23, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Marshy Hope, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Mary (Foote) Dewar. Christine was a long-time resident of Sutherland's River. She taught school for 35 years in various rural schools throughout the county, retiring from East Pictou Rural High School. Christine was a member of Sutherland's River Presbyterian Church and organist in St. Andrew's Church, Egerton, for over 30 years. Christine was very active in the community and an avid card player, attending and organizing many card parties. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Surviving are sons, Kevin MacLean (Joanne), Keith (Brenda) MacLean; daughters, Karen (John) Chisholm, Marilyn (Derrick) Sandluck; grandchildren, Megan, Mallory and Abby MacLean, Tyler and Brittany Chisholm, Caitlyn, Breanna and Allie Sandluck; sisters, Kay MacDonald, Margaret (Jim) Bowie; brothers, Ernest (Mary Jane) Dewar, Bill (Sheila) Dewar; sisters-in-law, Mildred Dewar, Sylvia Dewar, and Marion Dewar. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene "Hughie"; brothers, Rev. Edgar (Marjorie) Dewar, Robert Dewar, George Dewar, Roy Dewar; sisters, Gladys Dewar, Helen (Alex) MacGregor; and brother-in-law, Huntley MacDonald. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Jessie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Egerton. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Christine may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
