Obituary
HAMPDEN - Our mother, Joan M. Strang, 74, a long time resident of Hampden, passed on to be with her beloved husband, Ross G. Strang, Sunday, April 24, 2005, at a local hospital, following a lengthy illness. "They are now dancing in heaven." She was predeceased by her parents, Linwood T. and Mary C. Fernald; and a sister, Jean Dube. Mom graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1949. She went on to marry Dad and start our family. Mom returned to school and graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in 1970. She had a very rewarding career as a care giver. In her later years she enjoyed quilting for her family and friends, many people enjoy her quilts today. She is survived by her twin sister, Barbara A. Frost of Beech Hill Pond and Florida; two daughters, Cynthia D. Polo and her husband, Robert, of Carmel, Kelly J. Strang and her fianc?, Ivan Richard of Newburgh; four grandsons, whom she treasured, Keith P. Polo and his wife, Amy, Matthew L. Polo and his wife, Tina, all of Carmel, Travis R. Bryant and Joseph E. Bryant, both of Newburgh; three adored great-grandchildren, Jacob Ross Polo, Maxwell Reed Polo and Anna June Polo, all of Carmel; her adopted granddaughter, Noelle Richard of Portland; and many special nieces and nephews. Join us for a celebration of Mom's life 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at her home, 104 Old County Road, Hampden. Many thanks to the staff on the 6th floor at EMMC and to Dr. Kandra for the special care they gave our mother.
