F. Burton Tingley 1947-2008 F. Burton Tingley , 60, of the Jordan Lifecare Center, formerly of Cape Station, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2008 at the Nursing Home. Burton was born on September 2, 1947 the son of the late Everett and Maisie (Reid) Tingley. He was a member of the Lower Cape Baptist Church. He worked as a butcher and resided in Calgary until 1987, moving home after his illness. When he was able, Burton enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and horseback riding and camping. He was also an avid sports fan, playing baseball, hockey and skiing. Most of all he loved being with his family. He will be remembered for his great sense of humour and for his practical jokes, he would tease anyone and everyone. After his struggles with his illness he was determined to be all he could be, not letting anything get in his way and overcame his disabilities with a great spirit. He was a true inspiration to his family and friends. He was always smiling and with his final good-bye "Burton is Finally A-1". He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Nancy Hopkins of Halifax and his precious grandsons, Jesse and Brett; his sisters, Pauline Lubsy (David) of Amherst, Kathy Underhill (Robert) of Riverview, Cheryl Nelson (Keith) of Hillsborough and Sandra Tingley of Sussex; brothers, Darrell Tingley of Elgin and Melvin Tingley (Muriel) of Hopewell Cape. He will also be sadly missed by his step-grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" Williams (John) of Cape Station; and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Winston. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday, January 28th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at the Lower Cape Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm with Lic. Leonard Geldart officiating. Following the service the family will be meeting with relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and for refreshments in the Church basement. Interment will be held in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape in the spring. Donations to the Lower Cape Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
