Obituary
Lillian Marie Fage, 81, of Brookdale passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2008 at home with her loving family by her side.
Born in Surrettes Island, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Guillaume Henri "WiIllie" and Marie Emilienne "Millie" (Surrette) Babin.
She was a homemaker a 4-H leader and an active member of the Hospital Auxiliary where she worked in the gift shop, Telephone Pioneers and made heart and stroke cusions. Lillian was employed as a bookkeeper along with her husband in Sackville, NB for A.A. Fage TV and Radio Repair. She was also employed with Aerovox Transformer Manufacture and later with Northern Telecom for 17 years until her retirement. Lillian then was able to follow her passion for quilting, making quilts for her family and as each grandchild went off to college, a quilt went with them. She belonged to her quilt group, "Come For Fun" and went bowling every week with her daughter Alda. Lillian enjoyed gardening, flowers and fed many different species of birds all winter long.
She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving husband Allen Avard (Red), her precious children, Valerie Chappell (Doug DesBarres) of Minudie, N.S., Alda (Ivan) Fromm and Norma (Bob) Milner both of Hastings; son, Lloyd (Florance Beaton) of Mill Cove, N.S.;
a loving sister, Pauline LeBlanc of Meteghan, NS, her sister in law Doris Webber of Amherst, special granddaughter Kristi of Mill Cove along with nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces.
She was predeceased by her two sons, Bruce Allen James (2008) and Randall William (1966), brothers Henri, Germain, twin brothers Lionel and Leonard as well as her sisters Annette, Eileen and Germaine.
Resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with visiting on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8 p.m.
Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Deacon Howard Gotell officiating.
Interment will take place in the St. Charles-Nativity Cemetery at a later date.
