      REID, FRANCES E. - It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Frances Elizabeth (Wells) Reid, age 85, of Hampton, NB, wife of the late Cecil A. Reid, which occurred at her residence on August 10, 2013. She was born in Point de Bute, NB, on October 11, 1927, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Annie (Siddall) Wells. Fran attended Sackville High School and graduated from Mount Allison School for Girls and Mount Allison University, majoring in Piano and Voice. She taught music in schools in Kingston, Prince Edward Island and surrounding areas. Fran married Cecil Reid in 1948 and lived in Parrsboro, NS for one and a half years, then moved to Hampton in 1950. She received her embalmer's license in 1964 and was vice president of Reid's Funeral Home for several years. She taught piano lessons, directed girls' choir in the United Church for several years and was a member and past president of U.C.W. Friendship Group. She was a past Matron of Lord Beaverbrook Chapter, O.E.S. #33 and past President of Hampton Ladies Curling Club as well as a member of the W.O.W. Red Hatters. She enjoyed spending her summers at the cottage on the beautiful Belleisle, where she enjoyed playing the spoons at many kitchen parties held there. Fran is survived by one daughter, Brenda Goobie (Leonard) of Hampton; three sons, Brian (Natalia) of Hampton, Bruce, R.C.M.P. (Lori Wilson) of Quispamsis and Brock (Barbara) of Hampton; 13 grandchildren, Mark, Scott, Adam, Tara (fiddler and singer), Travis, Tasha, Lisa, Cameron, Gillian, Jennifer and Julie; several great-grandchildren; special angel, Shelley Halliday who cared for Fran with lots of love and care; one niece and two nephews; and her canine friend, Cuba. She was predeceased by brother, Glyn Urquhart. Fran's family would like to thank Dr. Douglas Hall, Extra-Mural and caregivers, Shelley, Heather, Linda, Lynn, Elaine, Kelly and Debbie for all the excellent care she received.
      She is resting at Reid's Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB, with visiting on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 4 to 8 pm. An Eastern Star Service will be held at 3:45 pm, just prior to visitation. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Mary Wanamaker and Rev. Paul Smith will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, from Hampton United Church. Interment will take place at a later date in Hampton Rural Cemetery. Donations in memory of Fran may be made to a memorial of the donor's choice. Condolences to the family may be made through www.reidsfh.com
