Theresa "Terri" S. (Spediacci) Rothwell

Theresa Terri S. (Spediacci) Rothwell, wife of Eliot Rothwell, age 75, died peacefully on Thursday December 18, 2014 in Fort Myers, Florida. Born in Lynn, the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary (Oulton) Spediacci, she was raised and educated in Swampscott graduating from Swampscott High School in the class of 1957. She continued her education at Framingham State College and received her degree in Elementary Education. She then began her career and taught First and Second grade in Long Beach, CA . She later returned to the North Shore and taught in Beverly Publics schools until she started her family. Once her four children were grown, Mrs. Rothwell returned to teaching, and taught at Ocean Breeze Nursery School in Swampscott. Mrs. Rothwell then went on to establish the St. Johns Nursery School in Swampscott where she was the Director and for eighteen years. Mrs. Rothwell was a member of the Garden Club of Swampscott, Boston Yacht Club, The Marblehead Yacht Club and the Corinthian Yacht Club. In addition to teaching CCD at St. Johns, Mrs. Rothwell also served as a Eucharastic Minister at St. Johns Church Swampscott and Our Lady Star of the Sea Church Marblehead, where she was also a daily communicant. Mrs. Rothwell ran local 10k road races and especially enjoyed the Bonne Bell Road Race held in Boston. In addition to her husband, Eliot, Mrs. Rothwell is survived by her four children; Elisabeth Ahern and husband Stephen of Wilmington; Christopher Rothwell and wife Karen of Swampscott; William Rothwell and wife Denise of Lynnfield; and David Rothwell and wife Gina of Redondo Beach, CA. She is survived by her grandchildren, Brendan and Colin Ahern, Joshua, Kathyrn and Jason Rothwell; Zachary, Keira and Charlotte Rothwell, Kaiya Rothwell and the late Elisabeth Ahern as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Nancy Ledbury, and brother Robert Spediacci. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:15 A.M. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St., (cor of North St.) Salem followed by an 11:00 AM. Funeral Mass at Lady Star of the Sea, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St, Salem December 22, 2014 from 4:00P.M to 8:00 P.M.
