      HAMPDEN - Katherine Frances (Buchanan) Bryer, 88, passed away Dec. 15, 2002, at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Eddington, July 22, 1914, the daughter of Malcolm and Sarah (Robertson) Buchanan. Katherine was a graduate of Brewer High School, Class of 1933. She was a resident of Hampden for more than 66 years, and was a 66-year member of the Coldbrook Road Christmas Club of Hampden. She had worked for many years at the Charter House in Bangor. She enjoyed playing beano and was a wonderful cook. She will be remembered as a great and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Bertrand B. Bryer in 1980. She is survived by a son, Bertrand A. Bryer and his wife, Joann of Westlinn, Ore.; two daughters, Sandra L. Auxier of Winterport and Nancy L. Flewelling and her husband, Roy of Etna; one brother, Perley Buchanan of Brewer; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Pat Dexter of Winterport. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Dick Woehr officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Gestures of remembrance may be made to the Hampden Ambulance Service, 106 Western Ave., Hampden 04444.
