AMHERST - The death of Victor Douglas Smith, well known resident of Tidnish Bridge, N.B., occurred at his home. Â He was 45 years of age, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Smith of Lower Shinimicas. Â He was born in Lower Shinimicas where he lived until his marriage in 1946. Â Since then he resided at Tidnish Bridge, where he owned and operated his own farm. Â He was a member of the active Army during World War Two, serving with the Brockville Rifles. Â Prior to his enlistment, he attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Truro. Â He was a member and an elder of the Tidnish Bridge United Church. Â Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Jennie Davidson of Tidnish Bridge, and one daughter, Patsy, at home; two brothers, Norman and Morley, both of Lower Shinimicas. Â The late Mr. Smith is resting at the home of his mother-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Davidson, Tidnish Bridge, where the funeral service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Nathan Mair. Â Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge.
