  Obituary	Obituary Ray Tranten, 71, died recently in Santa Maria California. he was born in Anson Maine June 21, 1915 son of James A and Elizabeth C (Stewart) Tranten. He was educated in the Anson and Madison schools. He was employed by the Great Northern Paper Co., and deering Millkun Woolen Mills, Norridgewock Shoe Co., and was also self-employed at Ralph's Sunoco of Madison until his retirement in 1977. In 1977 he moved to Santa Maria California. He was a member of the Madison Kiwanis Club, past president of the Madison Lions Club and the Santa Maria Lawn Bowling club, where he received a life honorary membership. He married Leona De Hetre January 13, 1934. He is survived by his wife of Santa Maria; two sons Leroy W Tranten of Long Beach California, and Ralph E Tranten of Madison; three sisters, Pearl Tranten and Ruth Zicary both Hemet California and Sylvia Rogers of Madison; nine granchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at the Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria, Wednesday. Burial will take place at Saint Sebastians Cemetery in Madison in the spring. Local services are under the direction of the Edward Funeral Home 165 Main St Madison. February 5, 1987.
