      MacDONALD, Madeline Mary - 76, Milford Street, Amherst, passed away Monday, February 9, 2004, in George DuMont Hospital, Moncton. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Catherine (Richardson) Rhindress. She was educated at Amherst Senior High School. Madeline was employed with Maritime Tel & Tel as chief operator until her retirement in 1973. She was actively involved with the Acadia Chapter of Telephone Pioneers where she served as treasurer. Madeline was a member of First Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Ewan of 48 years; sister, Helen Baird (Gordon); brother, James (Andrea); nieces, Catherine Ripley (Frank), Nancy Calder (Hugh), Sharon Lynn (David); nephews, Douglas Rhindress (Wendy), Stephen Baird (Diana), Roderick Rhindress (Kathy), David Rhindress (Shirly); many great nieces and nephews. Her remains will rest in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, 23 Prince Arthur St., Amherst, Wednesday, February 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Madeline's funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 12, at 2 p.m., Rev. Byron Corkum officiating. Burial will take place in Amherst Cemetery in the spring. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Branch or to a charity of choice.
