Obituary
Myrtle A. Grant, 83 passed away May 3, 2002 at the Carleton Memorial Hospital, Woodstock, suddenly after a long and fulfilling life. She was born May 8, 1918 in Northampton to Harold and Lila (Duplisea) Bulmer. She was predeceased by her husband Ansley in 1954; her companion and best friend, Chester in 1992; her brother Leonard in 1998 and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Donald (Margaret) of Swift Current, Sask., Beecher of Grafton, N.B., Douglas (Kathleen) of Belleville, N.B., Ansley of Limestone, N.B., Avis (Murle) of Limestone, N.B., Dorma of Kingston, Ont., and Donna of Victoria, B.C. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren (spouses); 19 great-grandchildren (spouses); one great-great granddaughter; her beloved sister Hazel, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Myrtle lived all of her life in the Woodstock area. She was a prolific knitter and everyone in the community benefitted from her talent. Her early years were spent in Kilmarnock and she always treasured her trips back. Her son Beecher was her helpmate and they lived on Charles Street for 58 years before they moved to Grafton. Her daughter Avis took care of her faithfully. Myrtle was an active member of the Salvation Army until the last few years but she always did her Bible reading every day and loved the Lord.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 7 at the Scott Funeral Home with Captain Nelson Watkins officiating. A special tribute was shared by her daughter, Dorma. Interment followed at The Kirk.
Those who choose may contribute a donation in her memory to the Canadian Red Cross, The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Salvation Army.
