ALLEN, MAUDIE M. - Maudie M. Allen, 96, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday evening, May 26, 2012. Born in Tidnish Bridge, NS, she was the daughter of the late Parker and Blanche (Dobson) Strang. Maudie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a Charter member of Mountain View United Church and a Charter and Life member of the UCW of her church. Maudie enjoyed cooking, knitting, spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maudie will be sadly missed by her daughter, Linda Curwin (William) of Lower Coverdale; sons, Douglas (Beverley); Richard “Rickey” (Patricia) both of Moncton; precious grandchildren, Stephen, Andrew, Debbie, Shelley, Craig, Chris, Dr. Scott, Shari-Anne, Dr. Shane and Ashley; 17 cherished great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eric B. Allen (Sept. 1993); sister, Grace and brothers, Richard “Dick” and George.
Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service to be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 11:00 am with Rev. Mary MacPherson officiating. Reception following the service in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
