      MRS BORDEN SMITH
OXFORD, Feb. 23 - The funeral of the late Mrs. Borden Smith was held from the family home in Main Street Sunday afternoon, with many friends assembled to pay last tribute of respect to his highly esteemed citizen. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. D. B. Tupper, pastor of Trinity United Church, of which church the deceased lady was a valued member. Burial was made in Pine Grove cemetery, Oxford.
Mrs. Smith had resided in Oxford most of her long life, and would have observed her 90th birthday in May. Until ill health prevented, she took an active part in the work of Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 7, Oxford. She was twice married, her first husband, Robert Smith, predeceasing her in 1898, and her second husband, Borden Smith, passing away within the past year.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John E. Hills, Oxford, and Mrs. Lewis N. Morrison, Mahone Bay. Two grandsons, H. H. Hills and Reginald Hills, Halifax, and Robert Hills, Montreal, are also among the survives.
