  Notes	!ID= ST 15165 From Colleen Houlahan's GEDCOM - Mabel's mother, Mabel (Hennessey) Strang, died giving birth to her. Mabel never knew her mother but adored her father. She moved to the States in the early 1920's with Russell and Madeline. Mabel died at the Brockton Hospital, Brockton, Mass., U.S.A. after a brief illness. Buried at St. James Cemetery, Whitman, Mass. Address prior to death was: 5 Oakwood Avenue, Whitman, Mass. At the time of death, Mabel was the last surviving child of Fletcher Strang. She also had the lengthiest life, living to the age of 92. Her six other siblings all died between the ages of 57 and 66. Her father, Fletcher, lived to be 81. Notes from obituary: "Mabel attended schools in Malden, New Brunswick and Mount Carmel Academy in Saint John, N.B. before moving to Boston where she worked for many years as a secretary for Houghton Mifflin Book Co. She later moved to Hyde Park and Rockland, Mass. where she was active in both Democratic Town Committees in the '50s and '60s. She and her husband, Tom, were guests at John F. Kennedy's inauguration. A Whitman resident for many years, she was a communicant at Holy Ghost Church and belonged to the Blessed Mary Sodality. She and her husband served with the Pine Street Inn meal preparation group at the church."
