      ROY (Beaton), Loretta Grace - It is with great sadness the family of Loretta Grace (Beaton) Roy, age 75 of Amherst, announce her passing on Friday, May 1, 2009, in Moncton Hospital. Born in Londonderry, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Laura Eagles. Loretta was a stay at home mom and foster mom until her employment as a Telephone Operator in Northport (Cumberland Rural Telephone Services) and was one of the last to hold this type of position. After moving from Lorneville to Amherst, she became an active member of the Lioness and participated in a mixed dart league at the Sgt. Mess. During this time she also worked at "A Touch of Country" on Victoria Street. She was a lifelong lover of a variety of music and was well known for always having a tune on her lips and a polka in her feet. Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Norman, and was a devoted mother to her children, Terry (Patricia) Beaton of Joggins; Debra (Rocky) Ripley of Warren; Guy (Bonnie) Beaton of Baie Verte, N.B., and Ardie (Tony) Eaton of Warren. She is also survived by stepchildren, Larry (Jeanette) Roy of Brookdale and Julia (David) Davidson of Beaverbank, as well as siblings, Peg Turner and Stewart Eagles, both of Truro; 14 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Loretta was predeceased by her first husband, Russell Beaton and seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst. (667-9906). Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Amherst Wesleyan Church in Amherst with Rev. Raymond Fancy officiating. Donations in Loretta's memory may be made to Maggie's Place or the charity of your choice. Interment will take place in St. Charles - Nativity Cemetery in Amherst. www.campbells-amherst.ca
