      DICKIE, Harris Edward - 89, Mount Pleasant, Cumberland Co., died February 5, 1996, in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born at Mount Pleasant, he was a son of the late Thomas and Emma Dora (McCormack) Dickie. Prior to his retirement, he spent his lifetime self-employed as a farmer, having farmed for 75 years. He was an adherent of Calvary United Church, Mount Pleasant; member of Oxford Area Men's Club; Oxford Area Men's Club choir, and Oxford Pioneer Heritage Club. Surviving are daughter, Olive (Mrs. Ivor Deacon), Valley Road, Cumberland Co.; son, Vaughn, Mount Pleasant; sister, Mrs. Etta McCarthy, Mount Pleasant Lodge; a granddaughter; four grandsons; four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ida M. Porter; daughter, Annie Yvonne in infancy; son, Harris Elwood in infancy; sisters, Clara, Bessie, both in infancy, Amy Fraser, Annie King, Janet Fahey, Mary L. McKay; brothers, Owen, Minor, George. Visitation today and tonight, funeral 2 p.m. Thursday, both in Allen's Funeral Home, Oxford, Rev. Dewis Rector officiating, assisted by Rev. Yvette Noble-Bloomfield. Burial at a later date in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to any charity.
