      CHAPPELL, Russell M.

      TIDNISH BRIDGE, NS - Russell M. Chappell, 93 years of age, of Tidnish Bridge, NS passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2005 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Tidnish Bridge, he was a son of the late Walter & Lizzie (Chapman) Chappell. In his younger years, Russell was employed in the Gold Mines in Perron, Que. He was a WWII Veteran and served overseas with the Canadian Army, following the war he was employed at Robb Engineering Ltd. For over 20 years and at the same time owned and operated his own farm. Russell was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst Branch #10. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Idella Wheaton, a daughter-in-law, Dianne Wheaton; a niece, Joan Robichaud; several other nieces, nephews and many step grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Doris Feltham (Wheaton); stepsons, Howard, Wylie, Albert "Sonny" and Ernest Wheaton. Russell's remains are resting at Furlong's Funeral Home in Amherst with visiting hours today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. His Funeral Service will be held at the Cumberland Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Steve Longmoore officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverside Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge at a later date. Should friend's desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation or the charity of choice.
