Gerald "Gerry" Turner 1941-2009
Gerald "Gerry" Maurice Turner, 68 years of age, of Tidnish, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Amherst he was a son of the late Gerald Turner Sr. and Lillian Turner (Jackson).
A linesman, he worked for several years in Fort McMurray retiring to the Maritimes. Gerry will be missed by the people that knew him best and the people he liked to hunt and fish with. He will especially be missed by Neil and Debbie Chapman who took care of him for a few years.
He is survived by daughters, Dawn Wright (Peter), Diane MacKenzie and Cindy Henderson; a son Terry (Lori) Turner; grandchildren, Kathy, Bailey, Owen and Allison Wright; brothers Kenneth, Roderick, Douglas; sisters, Linda, Beverly, Kim.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by one infant sister.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS (902-664-1080). No Funeral Service by request. Gerry's cremains will be taken to Newfoundland.
The family request memorial donations be made to the Amherst Food bank to help with Christmas Supper for the less fortunate.
