Notes |
- AG - She lived in Skowhegan ME with George Edward Sr & Ella her daughter, and moved with them to Nashua NH, finally moving to CA to live with her son Thomas, his wife Nita and their two sons, where she died. Her remains/ashes were shipped back to Pt de Bute where they were interred with Dixon (near back half of cemetery on rt.).
She was a hatmaker by trade, and had a loom with which she made fabric and special cloth. When she was staying with Ella and George Edward Oulton in Nashua, NH in the 1920's, she had her loom in the front room of their house, and spent many hours at it. She also tended the grapes in their back yard.
Anne O Galt grew up calling her "Cookoo" instead of Caroline. She tells us she was quite deaf in her later years ("deaf as a bat"). Also, despite her French-Canadian background, she had only a slight accent. Only a few words belied a French accent with an emphasis on a different syllable or using different consonant sounds, etc. (eg: "garage" she pronounced "garash").
1851 census for Victoria Cty, NB has her father with his family living in the parish of St. Francis. (page 011 of the census for that county)
All children born in Van Buren , ME were baptised at St. Bruno's Parish, Van Buren, ME

FL- A question mark was placed by this name in computer record files of William Brown Oulton. Though these computer record files of 1978 vintage are in the files of William at Christina Lake;it seems unlikely that they were created by William as he has gone through them and corrected date etc and has signed his name to the same. They are predominately Oulton family records and show some of the children not listed in William Brown Oultons records however they are lacking dates, some of which have been filled in by William. Also the 1978 computer print out did not have a place of location there none of the information I have typed from this source has location with the exception of those added by William.
