FRASER, Floyd Lewis - Lower Main Street, Oxford, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2000, at his home in the presence of his loving family at the age of 83. Born in Riverview, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late James P. Fraser and leRena (Mattinson) Fraser. He was a member of the St. James Presbyterian Church, Oxford. He was a journeyman in the carpentry trade, builder of many large construction projects in Oxford, and the surrounding area of Cumberland County, including the Oxford Medical Centre and the Senior Citizens Complex in Collingwood. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and master gardener and was known in the community for his faith in God, kindness to all and his endless generosity. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Cora Jeanette (Simpson) Fraser; daughters, Joyce McMasters and her husband Bruce, Millvale; Faye Walzak and her husband Greg, Chatham, Ont.; son, James Fraser and his wife Donna, Oxford; sister, Ms. Dorothy Wood, Halifax; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Mrs. Thelma Colborne; brothers, Carl, Norman and Percy Fraser. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Remains are resting in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford. Visitation was held Sunday afternoon and evening. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today, in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water Street, Oxford. Burial to take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of choice.
