    • WEDDING BELLS - SILLIKER - READ
      Amherst, N.S., Jan 6th
One of the prettiest nuptial events of the year too place at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Charles H. READ today, when their elder daughter, Isobel Lockhart, was united in marriage to Victor W. SILLIKER of Detroit, youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. C. J. SILLIKER of this town. The home was beautifully decorated with baskets and bowls of lilies and roses.

Preceding the bridal party eight little girls, the Misses SINCLAIR, Manning, Hanway, ORCHARD, CHRISTIE, READ, CRAIG and R. ORCHARD formed an aisle of ribbon streamers. Through this aisle the bride passed on the arm of her father to the strains of the Wedding March, played by Miss Katherine DENNIS, assisted by Miss Mary LUSBY, playing a violin obbligato. The ceremony, performed by Rev. F L. ORCHARD, pastor of the First Baptist Church, was held beneath an arch of green on pillars of roses and lilies and under a beautiful green tracery bell. The bride was charmingly gowned in flat crepe with pearl ornaments and a train of duchess satin lined with orchid georgette. The bridal veil was of silk net edged with silver and she carried a shower bouquet of Ophelia roses.

The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Josephine McKENNA, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hance J. LOGAN and Miss Helen WHITE. They left on the Maritime Express for Montreal and Quebec and will reside in Detroit. Among the out-of-town guests were Colonel Allison BORDEN and Mrs. BORDEN of Kentville, Hon and Mrs. Fred MAGEE of Port ELGIN and Miss TENNANT of New York.
