- From Placide Gaudet's original notes (copied by A.Owen at the CEA in Moncton May 19,1976): "Moïse (Vienneau) s'établit dans le Portage de Caraquet. Pierre & François, ses deux fils, ayant été se fixer à Weldford. Moïse aller demeure avec eux vers 1883 a quand ceux ci allerent s'établier à Rogersville et il les accompagne. C'est ler qu'il décéda au commencement du mois d'avril 1893."
Translation by A.Owen: "Moses (Vienneau) settled at the Portage at Caraquet. Pierre and Francois, his sons, went to settle at Weldford. Moses went to live with them around 1883 just around the time that they went to settle at Rogersville and he accompanied them there. It is there that he died at the beginning of April in 1893."
Residence Abt 1883 Weldford [1, 5]
with his two sons, Pierre and Francois, - It is believed that this is Welford civic parish in New Brunswick (located in Kent County to the southeast of Rogersville) and not Weldford, Maine, USA as indicated by some other genealogists. Weldford/Welford, Maine does not seem to exist. - comment by A.Owen with input from Cathie Vienneau.
Residence 1884 Weldford, ME [6]
with his sons, Pierre and Francois, - Question as to whether Weldford is in Maine as Fidel Theriault writes in his book. Cathie Vienneau brought it to my attention that there is no Weldford, Maine. However there is a Welford Parish, a civic parish, in New Brunswick that is to the southeast of Rogersville. - comment by A.Owen
Died Mar 1893 Rogersville, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada [7]
- "Rogersville - Moise VIENNEAU, one of the oldest inhabitants of this parish, died last week at the advanced age of 96 years. " - transcription by Johnson
