      Phyllis C. Wood, age 80, passed away peacefully, Aug. 21, 2006 at the St. John Regional Hospital.

      Born in Baie Verte, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Blair and Jean (Davidson) Copp.Phyllis taught school for many years in the surrounding area. She was a past matron of Fort Monckton Chapter # 11 OES and a member of the St. James United Church, Baie Verte. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed by her many family members and friends.

      Phyllis leaves to mourn her husband of 59 years, Hugh, Baie Verte; 3 children, Terry (Susan) and Eric (Wanda), both of Baie Verte and Roxanne (Blake Ward), of Sackville; Two brothers, Aubrey (Betty), Amherst and Donald (Chit), Moncton; one sister, Doris (Howard Clark), Peterborough, ON. seven grandchildren, Leigh, Timothy, Meegan, Samantha, Rebecca, Amy and Kyle and seven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Norman and his wife Annie.

      The remains have been entrusted into the care of Jones Funeral Home, 3 W. Main St., Port Elgin (538-2241), with visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the St. James United Church, Baie Verte on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 2 pm, Rev. Dr. James Shaffner officiating. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin. Fort Monckton Chapter # 11 OES will hold a memorial service at the funeral home Tuesday at 6:45 pm.
