Regarded as the best baseball twirler in Nova Scotia, Pte. Harold Brownell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brownell, has made a good name for himself, both in the war, and on the athletic field. In fact the Brownell family has had quite a bit to do with the fuss in Europe. Two other brothers, Gordon and Wallace, enlisted in the 2nd Pioneers from Halifax and were overseas and in the trenches early in 1918. .... Incidently Wallace Brownell had his sixteenth birthday while under fire in France.The older brother, Harold, enlisted in the 85th Battalion of the Highland Brigade. ....
