      The death of Walter Dulenty, age 59, of Murray Corner, occurred at the Cumberland Regional Health Center, Amherst, on Thursday, January 5, 2006 surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer..

      Born in Amherst, he is a son of Nellie (Stright) Dulenty and the late Glenn Dulenty. Walter was a former employee of Marine Atlantic, Cape Tormentine until July 1997, and more recent years he was employed with Maritime Stone Works, Scoudouc, NB, he enjoyed his family, grandchildren, his animals, tinkering in his shop, attending blue grass festivals and his woods.

      Walter will be sadly missed by his mother, Nellie, Little Shemogue; his long awaited ray of sunshine, Catherine Ceretti, Little Shemogue; 3 sons, David (Julia), Jolicure, Howard, Advocate, NS and Timothy (Amanda Wood), Kingston, ON; a daughter; Tammy (Rowan Patten), Oshawa, ON, 4 grandchildren, Trevor, Krista-Rose, Avery and Eden; 2 brothers, John (Ann) and Stanley (Lily) and 6 sisters, Glenda (Mark) Allen, Karen (Ian) Hurley, Kathy (Dale) Alder, Zerelda MacLean, Nellie-Jean (John) Grant and Muriel (Mike Carroll) Jordan; brother-in-law, Sandy MacCalder, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Glenn, a sister, Brenda, a brother Leslie and nephew Ryan Grant Walter will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and many friends for his sense of humour, strong will and 'old fashioned' ways.

      The remains have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 W Main St., Port Elgin from where the funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 2 pm, William Drysdale officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm Saturday, until the time of the funeral. Burial in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cumberland Health Care Foundation (Palliative Care), or a charity of the donor's choice
