      STRIGHT, Ivan W. - 70, 4 Ramsgate Lane, Halifax, formerly of Pictou, died August 28, 1998, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Little Shemogue, N.B., he was a son of the late James L. and Greta M. (Walton) Stright. He was a founding member of J.L. Stright & Sons, noted boat builders in Pictou, later known as Stright-MacKay Ltd. For the balance of his working career, he was involved in the building supply industry (Halifax, Dartmouth, New Glasgow and New Minas). He retired from Canada Post in 1988 and relocated to Halifax in 1996. Surviving are his wife, Glenn; sons, Rod, Les, Halifax; daughters, Cynthia, Dartmouth; Karen, California; Shelley, Ontario; seven grandchildren; brother, Truman, Pictou; sisters, Vivian, New Minas; Helen, Wolfville. He was predeceased by brother, Herb. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in McLaren's Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral 11 a.m. Wednesday in the United church, Pictou, Rev. Ken Stright officiating. Burial to follow in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Family flowers only. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
