- After the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713, when Acadia was ceded to England, Michel Hache-Gallant thought about moving to Ile Royale. On the day after New Year's Day 1714, he and his son, Michel, left for Cape Breton and did not return to Beaubassin until May of that year.

- A note written in the parish register at Port Lajoie dated July 17, 1737, said that Michel Hache dit Gallant, husband of Anne Cormier, fell through the ice at the mouth of the North River on the 10th of April in the present year and had not been found until this day.
