  	Obituary AMHERST - Hazen Elery Chapman, 94, of Brookdale died at home Thursday. He was born in Chapman Settlement, son of the late Howard E. and Elizabeth (Ogden) Chapman. During the greater part of his life he operated a lumber business and owned and operated one of the first steam saw mills in this part of Nova Scotia. He lived at Chapman Settlement, moving to Brookdale in later life. He attended the United Church. His wife, the former Annie S. Oulton died in 1946. He leaves to mourn his son Carmen and daughter Reta, both at home, daughter Hilda (Mrs. Clifford King) of Amherst; a grandson; one sister Mrs. Dora Chapman, Amherst and a brother Dousit of Truemanville. The funeral service was at Furlong's Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock conducted by Rev. Derek Whitworth. Committal service was in the Amherst Cemetery Chapel. Burial is in the Lorneville Cemetery in the spring.
