      Roy LeBlanc
      1940-2013

      Roy Joseph LeBlanc, 73, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2013, surrounded by his family.  A native of River Hebert, he was currently residing in Maccan.

      Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Roy and Irene (LeBlanc)White.

      During his life, Roy was a Private in the Canadian Army.  He also spent many years working for General Motors in Ontario, and then spent time on the Canadian National Railway.

      Roy loved to play the fiddle, guitar, and any other musical instruments that he could get his hands on.  He loved hunting, fishing, and growing in his beautiful garden year after year.  Roy also enjoyed cooking for his wife, and kids, and anyone else who would stop by for a meal.  Most of all Roy loved his wife and his family.

      He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Dwyer); daughters, Cathy Burbine, Karen Dwyer (Albert); sons, Ernie (Peggy), Joey (Kathy), Robbie (Gail), Matthew, all of Maccan; sister Theresa Carmichael (Doug); brother Bernard, both of Ontario;  several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

      Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Bernice O'Brien and Rita Carter.

      Arrangements have been entrusted to Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777)  There will be no public visitation.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 2 pm, Father Phil Thibodeau and Father Vernon Driscoll officiating.  Burial will take place in the St. Denis Cemetery, Minudie, immediately following the funeral.

      Those wishing to make a donation in Roy's memory may do so to the St. Denis Cemetery, Minudie.
