  	Since Clara is 2 years older than her brother, James, on both the 1871 and 1881 censuses, it is most probable that her birth year was given incorrectly when she was baptized and that she was in fact born in 1865 instead of 1866. Her brother's (James') birth is recorded in the Nova Scotia vital statistics for the year 1867 while the parish register for Joggins and Missions gives it as 1868.
