  	Obituary April 8, 1979 Halifax Chronicle Herald: RIVER HEBERT - Leo Thomas Melanson, 82, of River Hebert, died Friday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst.   Born in River Hebert, he was a son of the late Amos and Susan Melanson.  He was a retired coal miner.   Surviving are two daughters, Lorraine (Mrs. Harold Clark), Mrs. Helen Smith, both of Springhill; five sons, Basil, Eugene, Clair, Dara, Jude, all of River Hebert; 28 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.   He was predeceased by his wife, the former Beatrice Como; three daughters, Doris, Muriel, Eileen, and two sons, Carlisle and Ivan.   The body is at the home of Clair Melanson, River Hebert.   Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert, Rev. William Slaney officiating.   Burial will be in Minudie cemetery.
