Philip A. Tingley Philip A. Tingley, 78, North Port, died Oct. 5, 2004. He was born June 18, 1926, in South Portland, Maine, and came to North Port 15 years ago from Maine. He was an electrician. He served in the Coast Guard.
Survivors include a son, William of North Port.
James A. McKee Funeral Home, North Port, is in charge.

Philip Allison Tingley
Philip A. Tingley, 78, (10-00734) of North Port, Florida, died Oct. 5, 2004. He was born June 18, 1926, in South Portland, Maine, the youngest child of Watson Eaton Tingley (9-00383) and Annis Narcissus Small.
He moved to North Port, FL 15 years ago. He was an electrician. He served in the Coast Guard and continued to enjoy boating. He had three boats, including a sailboat that he had built by hand.
His ashes were spread upon the sea in Maine.
Survivors include his friend of over 30 years, Joan Griffiths, three sons, Michael Tingley, John Tingley and Mark Tingley, a brother, George Tingley, and three sisters, Emily A. Tingley of Danvers, MA, Lunetta (Tingley) Herman and Isadora (Tingley) Banks.
He was preceded in death by a son, PFC Philip A. Tingley, Jr., who was killed in Vietnam in January, 1968, two brothers, Edward Allen Tingley and John Leonard Tingley, and two sisters, Melissa Viola (Tingley) Perkins and Susie May (Tingley) McCann.
(Medical):Had hip replacement and other surgeries just before death. Cause of death was boat falling upon him during post-hurricane clean-up, according to longtime partner Joan Griffiths (10/25/04)
