a farmer |
- George helped out on his father's farm. Also, he learned how to butcher cattle and cut the meat so that his father could peddle the meat in the wagon or sled with the horse in Joggins and around River Hebert. When his father grew older, George peddled the meat. Several years after his father died, George bought the farm. He kept milking cows then and sold the milk to the River Hebert Creamery. He also kept some beef cattle and a few pigs and hens for feeding his family. The family had a large vegetable garden.
