  Notes	name,dates - Bona Arsenault,vol.2,p.544 M01-p.124-126,129-name, marr.info on two marriages;he was a labourer. He converted to Catholicism under the name of Michel. Bona-vol.2,p.544-gives his grandfather's name as Jesse De Forest. Says his grandfather led a group of Huguenots in 1623 to settle at New Amsterdam(New York today) which was founded by other people from Holland in 1621. Between 1654 and 1667, Acadia was in the hands of the English. It was during this period of time that Michel DeForest,like the Melansons and the Grangers, families of British origin, came to establish themselves in Acadia and Married Acadians.
