Genevieve Emily LeBlanc
May 3, 2006 Genevieve Emily (Sweetheart) LeBlanc, passed away at Linhaven Home, surrounded by her family on May 3, 2006. Loving wife of the late Victor (1998). She is survived by her son, Warren Belliveau (Becky) of Welland; daughter, Brenda Chater (Tony) of St. Catharines; and daughter, Marion Bunny Cross (Greg) of Syracuse, NY. Dearest Nana, Nance and Nanny of Warren Patrick, John, Frances Mooradian (Mike), Ross, Emily, Catherine, Connor and Aaron; great-grandmother to Trent. Beloved sister of Wellington Rockwell (Vera) of Kingston, Warren Rockwell (the late Helen) of St. Catharines, the late Marion Boychuck (Frank) of St. Catharines, aunt Sweet to many nieces and nephews and dear friend of Maureen Gibson. Genevieve was born in Joggins, Nova Scotia on December 15, 1926 and moved to St. Catharines in 1951. She retired in 1983 after 32 years of service at Bell Canada. She was a Eucharistic Minister and CWL member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church; a member of the Mabel Hubbard Club and the Bell Pioneers; and a dedicated volunteer at Right to Life. The family wishes to extend its many thanks to the dedicated staff at Dalhousie House, Linhaven for many years of care. Mrs. LeBlanc is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until Friday at 9 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Denis Church on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 9:30 a.m. Rite of committal will be held in Victoria Lawn Cemetery following the service. Visiting hours are Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the Alzheimers Society in Genevieve's honour.
