S10-Joseph Arceneau, ploughman and navigator, native of l'Acadie, aged 35 years and has been 23 years in the country. Married Maiguerite Boudrot, native of Port Toulouse aged 29 years. They have 4 sons and 1 daughter: Pierre, 10 years Francois, 8 years Cyprien, 6 years Joseph, 4 years Anne, 15 months. Antoine Arcenaud, native of l'Acadie, aged 30 years, his brother lives with them. Land was granted to them by Messiers Duchambon & Dubuisson under date the fifth of September, 1742. Livestock: 2 oxens, 1 cow, 4 ewes, 1 wether, 3 pigs, 6 fowls, together with one bateau. They have made a clearing & sown 12 bushels of wheat & 2 bushels of peas & still have fallow land sufficient for sowing of 25 bushels. B28-p.43-...census of 1752 provides us with information...an average family like that of Joseph Arsenault and Marguerite Boudrot who had been living in Malpeque(sic PEI) for twenty-three years only owned two oxen, one cow,etc.
