Obituary

CARKNER, Austin Peacefully at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital, on Wednesday June 7, 2000, Austin Carkner of Winchester, in his 85th year. Loving and beloved husband of Ethelwyn (Barrie) Carkner for over 60 years. Proud and loyal father of Anne Barkley (Ralph) of Williamsburg, Connie Barton (Phillip) of Brockville, Helen (Bernard Leveille) of Port Moodie, B. C. Arthur (Janet MacMartin) of Ormond, and John (Lori McGrath) of Arnprior. Dear Grandpa of Dave, Jamie and Chris Barkley; Julie Barton Mills (Ed), Peter Barton (Tanya Rennick), Ellen Barton Limburg (Mike), Warren and Kent Foster; Andrew, Daniel and Hugh Carkner; Sam and Niall Carkner. Great-grandfather of Austin Limburg, Simon Barton and Evan Mills. Predeceased by brothers Elmore, Cecil and John and by sisters Geraldine Johnstone, Mildred Francis, Lois Reoch and Vivian Francis. Survived by many nieces, nephews and friends throughout the district and in the harness racing fraternity. Friends may call at the Marsden & McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburgon Thursday and Friday from 1 pm until time of service. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Friday June 9th at 2 pm Interment Ormond Protestant Cemetery.
