Archives, in Boston, reveals that Joseph dit p'tit Houpe was, in 1776, in the service of Captain Issac(a Pierre) Boudreau who, himself, was in the service of Colonel Jonathan Eddy, an american army officer. The latter, with other companions, was secretly planning the American independence. For three months of service, Joseph Leger received the sum of eight pounds sterling...On May 29,1789,he obtained a concession to occupy land-lot no.3 in Petcoudiac;d.dt. T20-b&d yrs,marr info.
