Obituary

Vera T. Kent, 89, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Melbourne, FL. She was born in Arlington, MA on February 17, 1923 to the late Ford and Bertha (Frame) Wing.
Vera worked as a server in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. She was also very giving of her time and skills as a volunteer. She helped at the Daily Bread soup kitchen for 24 years. She also crocheted hats for newborn babies born in the Melbourne area and took the time to bake cakes for the firefighters at Melbourne Fire Department station no. 72 on Sarno Road.
Vera had a great love for gardening and flowers and plants of all descriptions. An avid music fan and musician, Vera was a talented organist and played often.
Vera is survived by her children, Carol F. Pensalfini of West Chester, PA, Susan M. Kent of Franklin, MA, Peter L. Kent of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Roger C. Kent of Franklin, MA. She also leaves her grandchildren, Lisa, Melissa, Nicole, Teresa, Derek and Jeffrey as well as seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Leon C. Kent. She will be dearly missed by her family, and all those whose lives she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, August 6, 2012 at 11:30 A.M. at Davis Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel.
