AMHERST - Peter John Petrus, 76, of 20 Clifford Street, Amherst, died Friday in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Â Born in Belleshille, Scotland, he was a son of the late Angus and Annie (Weaver) Petrus. Â He was a welder with Robb Engineering Works for several years prior to his retirement in 1968. Â A veteran of the Second World War, he served overseas with the Second Medium Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery. Â He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst Branch 10. Â He is survived by his wife, the former Lyttle Miller, three daughters, Shirley, and Wendy (Mrs. Dana Sonier), both of Amherst; Wilma (Mrs. Kenneth Currie), Ottawa; a son, John, Ottawa; a sister, Elenora North, North Barnaby, B.C. (sic); six grandchildren and a great grandson. Â He was predeceased by two sisters, Annie and Margaret. Â Following cremation a memorial service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst; Rev. Peter Mitchell officiating.
