    Sanford Weldon Jackson age 67, of Amherst passed away, Saturday, August 16, 2003 as a result of a boating accident. Born in Amherst Head, he was a son of Eileen (Smith) Jackson of Amherst and the late Alfred Jackson.

    Sanford was employed at IMP Aerospace, Amherst as a Stationary Engineer for 46 years. He loved rebuilding old engines and antique cars and was an avid participant of the Antique Mechanical Fair in Amherst.

    Sanford had several friends whom he enjoyed sharing his knowledge of antiques and engines. He loved bluegrass music and enjoyed bluegrass festivals.

    He was a dear friend to all and loved his family.

    He is survived by his wife the former Donna Wheaton, daughters Joyce (Wendell) Hollis, Beatrice Marks and Bonnie Mae (Rennie) Bugley all of Amherst, son Donald (Annette) Jackson of Amherst, brothers Mayhue (Ruby) of Grande Cache, Alberta, Carman (Jean) and John (Dianne) both of Amherst, Bruce (Cindy) of Galatia, Illinois, U.S.A., and Brian (Gwen) of Fenwick, sisters Brenda (Reginald) White and Judy (Bliss) Baker both of Amherst, Jocelyn Jackson of Moncton, Patricia (Garth) Gates of Truro, Starr (Robin) MacLean of Strathcona and Wanda Thorburn of Petawawa, Ont., many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.

    Sanford was predeceased by his father Alfred by 9 years, infant daughter Doris (Dolly) Marie and a sister Gwenda by 43 years.

    Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

    Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with Rev. Danny Compton officiating. Interment will take place in the Head Of Amherst Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

    Refreshments will be served after the service at 19 Cornwall St., Amherst, N.S.

    JACKSON, Alfred Henry - 80, Fenwick, died October 13, 1994, in Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst.  Born in Lorneville, he was a son of the late George and Ellen (Feltham) Jackson.  He was a farmer and had been employed at EnHeat for over 40 years.  He is survived by his wife, the former Eileen Smith; six daughters, Brenda (Mrs. Reg White), Upper Nappan; Judy (Mrs. Bliss Baker), Brookdale; Jocelyn, Moncton, N.B.; Patricia (Mrs. Garth Gates), Truro; Starr (Mrs. Robin MacLean), Strathcona; Wanda Thorburn, Dartmouth; six sons, Sanford, John, both of Amherst; Mayhue, Grand Cache, Alta.; Carman, Yarmouth; Bruce, Galatia, Ill.; Brian, Fenwick; brother, Johnny, Chapman Settlement; four sisters, Margaret (Mrs. Eugene Haynes), Evelyn (Mrs. Doug Haynes), both of Lorneville; Avery, Leicester; Pearl (Mrs. Isidore Gallant), Amherst; 29 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Gwenda; two sisters, Viola Locke, Annie Noiles; grandson, George Jackson; a great-granddaughter.  Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Saturday in Campbell's Funeral Home, Amherst, where funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. Harold King officiating.  Following cremation, burial will be in Amherst Head Cemetery.

    Eileen Jackson age 95, of Amherst and formerly of Nappan where she resided for 32 years passed away peacefully on Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family.
    Born February 13, 1918 in Amherst Head, NS, Eileen was a daughter of the late Earl and Emily (Beharrell) Smith.
    Eileen grew up on a farm, where she developed a lifelong love of horses and enjoyed listening and playing old time music and was crowned the Queen of Dick’s Jamboree.
    She began her career at Letcher’s Hotel, Cumberland Hotel and later for George Chapman Electrical Plumbing and Heating.
    In her spare time she loved knitting and especially spending time with her family.
    She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Brenda White, Amherst, Judy (Bliss) Baker, Amherst, Jocelyn Jackson, Moncton, NB, Patsy (Garth) Gates, Truro, NS, Starr Jackson (Shaun), Amherst and Wanda Jackson, Moncton, NB; sons, Mayhue (Ruby) Grand Cache AB, Carmen (Jean),Amherst, Bruce (Cindy), Galatia, IL, Johnny (Diane), Amherst and Brian (Gwen), Fenwick; her special granddaughter, whom she raised, Jaime (Bryce) Payne, Amherst; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
    Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Henry; son, Sandford, and daughter, Gwendalyn Jackson; granddaughter, Amanda; grandson, George; and great grandson, Zachery.
    Cremation has taken place.
    A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906). Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. from First Baptist Church, Amherst with Rev. Carolyn MacLeod officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will take place in the Head of Amherst Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eileen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, IWK or charity of your choice.

    MRS. ELLEN (NELLIE) A. JACKSON, 78, widow of George W. Jackson of Lorneville will be buried today following funeral service in the Lorneville United Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Heber Kean officiating. She died Thursday in the Highland View Hospital, Amherst. She was born in Bristol, England. She is survived by six daughters, Viola (Mrs. Norman Locke) Brookdale; Lillian (Mrs. Gerald Turner); Pearl (Mrs. Bill Mountain) and Evelyn (Mrs. Douglas Haynes) all of Lorneville; Annie (Mrs. Harry Noiles) Amherst; Margaret (Mrs. Eugene Haynes), Tidnish; three sons, Alfred, Nappan; Avery, Leicester and Jonnie, Chapman Settlement; one brother Harry Faltham, Amherst; 69 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
