Obituary

AMHERST SHORE, (Special) - Carrie, wife of Charlie ALLEN, Amherst Shore, passed away at her home Tuesday, July 3rd about 5 p.m., at the age of 72 years. She had been sick for seven months, and bedfast for the past three months. Mrs. Allen, was born at Tidnish Bridge in 1883, daughter of the late Burton and Amy (Ackles) Chappell. She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Lily (Mrs. Seymour Jeffers), Oxford; Mildred (Mrs. Stewart MacKay) and Jean (Mrs. Lloyd Craig) both of Amherst Shore; four sisters Pearl (Mrs. Harry Davidson) Tidnish Bridge, Bertie (Mrs. Murray Siddall) Aulac, N.B., Mrs. Greta Teed and Miss Eileen Chappell, Amherst; three brothers George, Claude and Fred Chappell, all of Tidnish Bridge; also thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The late Mrs. Allen was married three times, her first husband being Lewis Tingley, Tidnish Bridge, and the second, Winsby Goodwin, Lorneville. The remains are resting at Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. The funeral service will be held at Tidnish Bridge United Church at 2 p.m. Thursday July 5th with interment at Riverview Cemetery, Tidnish.
