    STRANG, ROY ALLISON - Roy Allison Strang, age 90, of Baie Verte, passed away peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin on Monday, October 26, 2009. Born in Tidnish, NB, he was the son of the late Morley and Lily (Brundage) Strang. Roy will be sadly missed by his son, Victor (June), Baie Verte, NB; two step-sons, Victor (Deborah) Sears and David (Janice) Sears both of Sackville; daughter Katherine (William) Patterson, Point De Bute; seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Roy was predeceased by his first wife Annie Briggs in 1966 and his second wife Muriel Phinney in 1999. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB (506-538-2241) where visiting hours will take place on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the funeral home on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery. www.jonesfuneralhome.ca

    TIDNISH - Mrs. Roy A. Strang, 53, of Tidnish died Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of Samuel Briggs of Wallace. She attended Trinity St. Stephens United Church. Surviving, besides her husband are a daughter, Kathryn (Mrs. William Patterson) of Point de Bute; a son Victor in Ontario; three sisters, Pearl (Mrs. Charles Stevens) of Pugwash; Frances (Mrs. Arnold Gorveatt) of Amherst; Uyanita (Mrs. Wellington Sprague) of Fox Harbor; and several grandchildren. Her body is at Campbell's Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Saturday. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery at Tidnish in the spring.

    Following an illness of three weeks the death occurred at an early hour Monday morning at his home in Upper Tidnish, N.B., of Morey Draper Strang in his 72nd year. He was the eldest son of the late Emma and Frederick Strang and was a life long and respected resident of that community. The late Mr. Strang is survived by his wife, the former Lily Alberta Brundage, two daughters, Helen (Mrs. Edgar Oulton), Beulah (Mrs. Osborne Chapman), two sons, Aubrey and Roy, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two daughters and two grandchildren predeceased him. The remains will rest at his late residence until Wednesday at 2 o'clock when prayers will be read for the family by Rev. Mr. Bacon, after which they will be taken to Community Hall, Tidnish Bridge, where funeral services will be held at 2.30 with interment in Riverside cemetery.

    PORT ELGIN - The death of Mrs. Lilly Alberta STRANG, widow of Morley Strang, of Tidnish, N.B., occurred at her home Wednesday following a lengthy illness. She was born at Tidnish, Nov. 8, 1886, a daughter of the late James and Lilly (Wade) Brundage. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Oulton, Tidnish, and Mrs. Beulah Chapman, Saint John; two sons, Aubrey, Montreal, and Roy, Tidnish, N.S.; a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The body is resting at
