    Obituary

Her many friends learned with deep regret of the death of Mrs. Alden Fahey which occurred at All Saints Hospital, Springhill, on Friday morning, October 13th, at the early age of 35 years.  She is survived by her husband, two children, Kathleen and Philip, her mother, Mrs. Rebecca Mayne, River Philip, five sisters, (Sadie) Mrs. Orlie Tait, Oxford; (Lottie) Mrs. Fred Wilkinson; (Jean) Mrs. Orland Fraser, Oxford; (Bertha) Mrs. Carl Mills and (Georgie) Mrs. Norman Mattinson, River Philip, also two brothers, Herbert and William Mayne of Mt. Pleasant, to whom is extended deep sympathy in the loss they have sustained.  Being of kind and gentle disposition, she endeared herself to all and people of all ages were truly welcome in her home.  Though her family was her main concern, she had other interests too.  She had a practical, relaxed attitude toward life and was always ready and willing to help others, whenever such occasions would arise.  The funeral was  held on Sunday, October 15th, and was very largely attended.  Rev. B.A. Nevin of the Presbyterian Church, Oxford, spoke words of comfort from the 90th Psalm, and the 11th chapter of St. John.  His text, "Jesus Wept" taken from St. John 11-35, brought a consoling message to those who mourn.  The hymns very beautifully rendered were "The Old Rugged Cross", "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "Beyond the Sunset".  The pallbearers were Orland Fraser, Orlie Tait, Robert Mattinson, Norman Mattinson, Vaughn Fahey and Lonnie Fahey.  Interment was in Birch Grove Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, with Mr. Frank Black, Oxford as funeral director.
