    ROBERTSON, Charles Alexander (Charlie) - 81, Beech Street, New Glasgow, formerly of Kenzieville, died December 24, 1998, in Sutherland-Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born in Barneys River, he was a son of the late John J. and Daisy (Dempsey) Robertson. He was owner and operator of C.A. Robertson Lumber Ltd. He resided in Kenzieville from 1948-1989, before moving to New Glasgow. He was a member and elder of the Barneys River Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the IOOF, Norton Lodge No. 6, Maritime Lumber Bureau and the Nova Scotia Forest Products Association. Surviving are his wife, the former Pearl Munro; daughters, Carol, New Glasgow; Heather, Halifax; sisters, Sophia Akromas, Connecticut; Colena, New Glasgow; Evelyn Snider, Saskatchewan; Isabel, Mayne Island, B.C.; Jean Ray, Kitchener, Ont.; 11 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Raymond, Gerald Harold, Arthur; sisters, Ethel and Dorothy in infancy. Visitation 2-5, 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in Barneys River Presbyterian Church, Rev. Dr. J. Kenneth MacLeod and Rev. Dr. John R. Cameron officiating. Burial in Kenzieville Cemetery. Donations to Parkinson's Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division or Barneys River Presbyterian Church. Odd Fellows, IOOF, Norton Lodge No. 6, memorial service 6:30 p.m. today. Brother lodges are welcome to attend.

    Mrs. Robertson Dies At Home In Kenzieville - Kenzieville - Mrs. J.J. Robertson, 67, a native of Merigomish, passed away at her home in Kenzieville Saturday following an illness of three days. Mrs. Robertson was born at Merigomish (daughter of Arthur Dempsey & Emma Susan Auld) and lived all her married life at Barney's River Station, moving to Kenzieville 12 years ago. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was predeceased by her husband in 1946 and by two sons, and by one brother and three sisters. Surviving are one son Charles in Kenzieville; three daughters: Evelyn (Mrs. W.S. Snider), Winnipeg; Isabel, California, and Jean (Mrs. Alfred Ray), Guelph, Ontario; two step-sons Raymond, Elliot Lake, Ontario, and Gerald, Willowdale, Ontario; two step-daughters, Sophia (Mrs. A. Akromos), Connecticut and Colina, Port Credit, Ontario; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. George Mason, The Ponds, Pictou County, and Mrs. James MacDonald, Merigomish. The remains are at the home. The funeral service will be held from there at 3:15 pm Tuesday. Interment will be at Hatties Cemetery.

    John Robertson - Barney's River Station, Dec 1, 1931 - The death occurred on Wednesday, November 25th of John Robertson, at the home of his son, Stewart. The passing of Mr. Robertson marks that of the oldest resident of Barney's River Station, and one of the oldest residents of Pictou County. Mr. Robertson was a man of fine Christian character. He clung to the old Presbyterian faith of his fathers, and was ever ready to help in a good cause. Although having attained the age of ninety-two years, Mr. Robertson retained his faculties until his passing. He was married twice, both wives having pre-deceased him. He leaves to mourn, two daughters, (Martha) Mrs. J.A. Pentz, Portland, Maine; (Emma) Mrs. J.J. O'Brien, Toronto, Ontario, Three sons, James and Harlan residing at Barney's River and Stewart on the old homestead. Two sons predeceased him: Charles at Trenton, in 1926 and William in Colorado, in 1929.
